ThermaFoil, Tool Steel wrap is a Foil used to Prevent Decarbonizing Tool Steel during Heat Treat eliminates the need for Ni-Chrome Box Packaging, or the use of saw dust and other Carbonaceous materials. No special controls or atmospheres are required. We offer two Alloys Type 321 and Type 309. For Heat treating up to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit use Type 321 and Type 309 .002″. For Heat treating up to 2300 degrees Fahrenheit use Type 309 .003″. Note, both Type 321 and 309 .002″ will fail at all temperatures above 2000 degrees. It is important to follow the correct Heat treating guide lines when using this product.
To Use; Place tool in Thermafoil Tool Steel Wrap; Fold over and crimp edges forming on Air Tight Package; Place package in Oven and Heat Treat in Usual way.
